About
From January of 2001 to October of 2008 I worked for Stanford University’s HighWire press as an application software developer. In September of 2008, my husband/SmugMug Sorcerer Sam Nichols and SmugMug CEO/awesome friend Don MacAskill convinced me to ditch my programming job (several previous attempts to convince me failed.) to come be a full time personal chef for Smuggy. This involves cooking lunch every day, the occasional dinner, breakfast and delicious snacks. I also sometimes act as mother/wife to Smuggy, nagging coworkers to clean up after themselves and eat their vegetables, and planning events and awesome trips. It’s been almost two years and I never regret a thing. It’s the best job at the best company in the world. Even when I’ve been on my feet for 16 hours it makes me smile to see my coworkers/friends enjoying a healthy, delicious meal that I prepared.
Besides the occasional (and obvious) iPhone shots, all photographs in the blog were taken with a Canon 5DmkII and Canon 100mm f2.8L IS Macro lens usually using the natural light coming in through SmugMug HQ’s front windows.
